Rodney Irons Obituary

Rodney Lee Irons, 56, of Hampstead, passed away on December 29, 2022 at Bridging Life Hospice in Westminster as a result of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Born February 10, 1966 in Westminster, he was the son of Larry and Judy Irons. He was a devoted husband to Jeannette (Jenny) Irons for 34 years. He was an exceptional father to Ayla Irons Zangana, Leah Irons Darwish and Isaac Irons, as well as a loving father-in-law to Shvan Zangana and Karim Darwish. He was an adoring grandfather (AKA Sensei) to Maya, Silas, Ezra, Moriah and Malachi. He was the brother of Duane (Judy Little) and Brian (Jennifer) Irons. Rodney loved his dog Harley. Surviving are also numerous loving nieces and nephews, as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Rodney grew up in Sykesville, MD and was a 1984 graduate of South Carroll high school. He lived in Hampstead from 1988 until his passing. He worked for Verizon Wireless as a cellular technician and enjoyed his job immensely. Rodney loved being a grandfather (Sensei). He especially enjoyed trips away to any beach or road trips to visit TN family. He liked to enjoy a cigar by an outdoor fire and spending time with his family. Rodney loved to take walks with his dog Harley. He had a servant heart and enjoyed helping people in any way that he was able to. Rodney loved living in Carroll County and he liked to tease his family that it is "God's country". He had a huge sense of humor and a quick wit. He was unafraid to speak his mind, especially in areas in which he was convicted. Rodney touched the lives of many people. He was a strong, loving and supportive father. As a follower of Jesus, Rodney is now experiencing the peace promised to all who belong to Christ. He would love to be remembered with funny or special stories that signify the many good and blessed things in his life. A celebration of life service will be held on January 7 at 11 AM at Crossroads Community Church, Hampstead campus; 1041 S Carroll St. Hampstead, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Community Church of Hampstead, 1041 S. Carroll St. Hampstead Md 21074 or to the family for Rodney's extensive medical bills. Any attire you prefer is welcome-casual or dressy.
