Rodney Jefferson

Rodney Lee Jefferson age 58 of Penhook passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at his home. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Walter Reevie Jefferson and Mildred Jeanette Jefferson; maternal grandfather and grandmother, Frank Edward Mullins and Frances Mildred Mullins.

He is survived by his wife Shannon Denice Jefferson; son, Reese Lawson Jefferson (Alexis Wright); parents, Ronnie Lee Jefferson and Mary Marie Jefferson; In-laws, Edward Sam Perdue and Althea J. Perdue; brothers-in-law, Edward Keith Perdue and John William Perdue; sister-in-law and husband, Tammy Ruth Smith and Henry Tyler Smith; niece, Carly Mae Smith; and nephew, Phillip Tyler Smith. His long-time friends, Donnie and Trish, Kenny and Gina. Jennifer and Morty, Arnold, Chris, and Galen; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a wonderful husband and best friend to Shannon for 32 years. He was a very proud and loving father to Reese. As a young man, he became a founding member of Cool Branch Fire Department. He got his love of cars from his father. He loved working on his model cars and real cars. Throughout the years of having many cars and going to car shows, he had many friends. He passed his love of cars on to Reese. He loved going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

At his request there will be no funeral service but a memorial and celebration of life gathering will be held at Cool Branch Fire Department on October 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
