Rodney Fillmore Johnson, of Stanchfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Elmhurst Commons in Braham. He was 92 years old.

Rodney was born on February 12, 1933, in Leaf Mountain Township in Ottertail County, Minnesota, the 4th of 11 children born to Rudolph and Gertrude (Reger) Johnson. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school.

On November 21, 1952, Rodney enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the Infantry, spending 13 months overseas during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a corporal in November of 1954.

On June 16, 1955, Rodney was united in marriage to Dorothy Faber. They were blessed with six children. In 1964, they settled on a farm in Stanchfield where they spent their entire lives. Rodney raised dairy and beef cows, planted and harvested crops, and drove truck for All American Trucking over the years. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union, the Braham Moose Lodge, and the Braham VFW.

Rodney enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He bowled for many years and loved trips to the casino and playing Bingo. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cheryl Johnson; daughter-in-law Lydia Johnson; siblings, Larry, David, Ronald, Wallace, Leoni, Donna, MaryLou, Angela, and Flavian.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy; children, Daryl Johnson, Darla (Kevin) Kruta, Scott (Barb) Johnson, Kevin (Christine) Johnson, and Jodi (Jeff) Zaun; 17 grandchildren, Jeremy, Joe, Justine, John, Michelle, Joshua, Jacob, Jesse, Jared, Jason, Jonah, Kyle, Casey, Kyra, Conner, Jared, and Zach; 9 great grandchildren, Daniel, Logan, Leo, Landon, Lincoln, Alea, Calvin, Ember, and Lilly; brother Dennis Johnson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Braham.

Memorial Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am.

A Luncheon will follow the service.

Inurnment and Military Honors will be at the Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.
