Rodney was born April 24, 1942 in West Monroe, Louisiana and passed away June 13, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was a carpenter by trade who spent many years working for himself. Rodney retired early due to a severe back injury, but that never stopped him from doing all the things he loved. He was a true Louisiana man, he loved hunting and fishing. Rodney loved people and made many lifelong friends in his 82 years. To know Rodney was to love him. He had a whit that could cheer the soul, no matter the circumstances. Rodney would often burst out in song when least expected and often added his own "colorful" lyrics to get a laugh. Rodney married Patsy Jean Cagle Knowles and together they had two children, Daniel Lavelle Knowles and Karen Ruth Knowles Littleton. After the passing of his loving wife Patsy, he found a second love in Diane Wheelington. They spent 13 wonderful years together. During that time he gained a bonus daughter, Deana Diane. She was able to bless him with a second grandchild, Zoey Thornhill, who Rodney adored.
Rodney was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Jean Cagle Knowles; son, Daniel Lavelle Knowles; parents, George B. Knowles and Mary Ruth Louise Moses Knowles; and brother, George David Knowles.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Diane Stewart Knowles; daughter, Karen Ruth Knowles Littleton; bonus daughter, Deana Wheelington; bonus son, Brent Pennington; grandchildren, Bonnie B. Littleton Lee, Zoey D. Thornhill; great-grandchildren, Austin Lee, Maddie Lee, Benjamin B. Lee, Eli Lee; numerous nieces and nephews; and other cherished family and friends.
Rodney will be missed and will always be remembered. Until we see him again, we know Rodney will be in heaven "Living a Dream".
Pallbearers will be Josh Knowles, Debo Bection, David Spillers, Roger Camp, Dee Hollingsworth and Jerry Smith.
