"Rodney Lewis is the only person I know that would cannonball into heaven" said his best friend and pastor, Ken Killen. On Monday, July 10th, 2023, Rodney D. Lewis was spending time with his family on his boat. He jumped in the water with his grandkids and woke up in heaven. What better way to go? His work here is finished in which the Lord used him to touch so many lives. He brought laughter wherever he went; a wise, godly man with the most giving heart.
He leaves behind his wife and best friend Linda (Gray) Lewis, of 45 years, his daughters Leigh (Eric Korn), Lauren (Matt Johnson), his 94 year old mother, Dorothy June Lewis and his brother Bob Lewis Jr. (Brenda Lewis), and many nephews, nieces, aunts, and cousins. He was one super proud papa and he loved being with his grandkids, Aubri, Douglas, Kinsley, Kelsey, and Paisleigh. The six of them had lots of fun and got in lots of trouble together.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby C. Lewis and brother, Jim Lewis.
We will celebrate his life on Saturday, July 15th at 11:00a.m., at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, in Beckley, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love to have any memories you have of Rodney, written down and mailed to: Lewis Girls P.O. Box 74 Crab Orchard, WV 25827 or dropped off at this celebration.
