Rodney Lane Otto, passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on November 8, 1968, in Louisville, Kentucky, Rodney was a man who embraced life with open arms and found joy in the great outdoors. He had a profound passion for fishing and camping, activities that brought him immense happiness.
Rodney's love for life was evident in his enjoyment of singing karaoke and sharing laughter and music with those around him. His pride and joy stemmed from his dedication to his family and God, which he regarded as the most important aspects of his life.
He is survived by his children, Triston Otto, Joshua (Daisy) Otto, James Grooms, and Summer Grooms, who carry forward his legacy of love and compassion. Rodney is also survived by the mother of his children and best friend, Stephanie Cissell; his mother and step-father, Theresa & Robert Freeze; his sister, Rhonda (Tony) Sigler; and his grandchildren, Lochlan Otto, Lincoln Otto, and Greyson Grooms, who were a source of immense pride and joy for him.
Rodney Lane Otto will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm on Friday, at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Rodney's wishes.
