Rodney G. Perkins, 73 of Gaylord, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at home. Born November 5, 1950, in Detroit, he was the son of Roy Jr. and Flora (Buccini) Perkins.
For 50 years, Rod worked in the automotive industry as an auto technician, diagnostic technician, designer and then an auto instructor. Rod enjoyed golfing, playing his drums, fixing things, and working on cars.
Rod is survived by his loving wife, Paula of 35 years; his children, Matthew (Stephanie) Perkins of Hamilton, OH and Jennifer D’Angelo of Plymouth, MI; his sister, Carol (Donald Hillman) Perkins of Rochester Hills, MI; his grandchildren, Dominic, Eliana, Millie, Colt, and Osiris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will take place at 11:30 AM Monday, March 18, 2024, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will visit with friends beginning at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Childrens Hospital of Michigan.
