Rodney Pierce Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - Nevada on Dec. 2, 2025.
Rodney "Rod" Dean Pierce, age 66, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Born on July 17, 1959, in Nevada, Iowa, Rod was the son of Donald Dean Pierce and Irene Doris Hodgson. He grew up in Nevada, graduating from Nevada High School, and went on to establish himself as a machinist at Almaco in Nevada before pursuing his passion for carpentry and opening his own business.
Rod's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and waterskiing. Winters were especially meaningful for Rod, as he would travel to Naples, Florida, to be with family, enjoying days spent on the water under the warm Florida sun.
Rod was a devoted father and is survived by his children: Joshua (Sarah) Pierce, Maddie Pierce, and Cheyenne Robinson. He is also survived by his mother, Irene Howard; his father, Don Pierce; his brother, Scott (Kelly) Pierce; his sister, Shelly (Dennis) Black; his grandchildren, Addie, Adriana, Jameson and Krew.
Rod was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Althea Pierce and George and Geraldine Hodgson.
Rod will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to gather for a time of remembrance and fellowship at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Central Presbyterian Church, 932 5th Street, Nevada, Iowa. The service will include a prayer, followed by a luncheon.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. The family invites you to share condolences and memories online at www.rasmussonfh.com.

Shelly and family- So sorry to hear about Rod. I think of all the orney stuff he pulled on me over the years . He was a handful at times. He and his slightly twisted sense of humor will be missed. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Love Susie Henze
