Rodney Dean Gustafson was born on December 11, 1962, in Marlow, OK, to Roger and Janet (Kincanon) Gustafson. He grew up in Montevideo, MN, and graduated in the Class of 1981. After high school, Rod moved to Robinsdale, Ortonville, Kranzburg, and ultimately settled in Big Stone City, SD.

On August 22, 1987, in Ortonville, Rod married Lori Loeschke. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Nicole, in 1992.

For many years, Rodney dedicated himself to lawn care and snow removal along with owning many fireworks locations.

Rod’s passion impacted countless lives through his 30 years of sobriety and his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous. His commitment to sponsoring and helping others in their recovery journey was a testament to his generous spirit.

There wasn't a day in 30 years that Rod did not do a good deed to help a person in need.

Rod and Lori enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle rides and shooting community fireworks shows together.

Left to cherish Rod’s memory are his wife, Lori; daughter, Nicole and fiancé, Ryan Goggin; his parents, Roger and Janet Gustafson; his brother, Keith (Julie) Gustafson; along with nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Baldwin.
