Rodney "Rod" Snider
March 23, 1951 – January 29, 2026
Rodney "Rod" Snider, age 74, of
Milford, Michigan, passed away on January 29, 2026. Born on March 23, 1951, in
Detroit, Michigan, Rod lived a life defined by love of family, hard work, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors and hands-on living.
Rod was the proud foundation of a four-generation legacy. He often said he intended to live forever because "only the good die young," and in many ways, he will. His influence, skills, humor, and values live on through his family and everyone lucky enough to know him.
Rod was a master carpenter, mechanic, electrician, welder, lawn connoisseur, and lifelong problem solver-truly, there was nothing he couldn't do. A graduate of the Farmington School District, he built more than projects; he built memories, traditions, and a family bound tightly together. Whether working with his hands, fixing what others couldn't, or teaching by example, Rod took pride in being helpful, resourceful, honest, and protective of those he loved.
He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, gardening, traveling, and just about any outdoor adventure. Long days at the lake were some of his favorites-canoeing, kayaking, swimming, grilling, and building a legendary bonfire while surrounded by family. He loved animals deeply and cherished every pet that became part of the family. He was also known as the best euchre partner around, an expert at stealing the deal, and always ready to celebrate life's moments-big or small.
Rod's humor and sayings will forever echo in the hearts of his family:
"How are ya feelings?" - "With my hands."
"Miss me?" - "With every bullet so far."
"Excuse me." - "There's no excuse for you."
And always, his parting words: "Rock 'n roll, party on everybody!"
Above all else, Rod was immensely proud of his children and the lives and families they built. His greatest joy was having his family together, making memories, laughing, and simply being present in the moment. You only had to meet him once to know him forever-he had a way of brightening your day and leaving a lasting impression.
Rod is survived by his loving wife, Paula Snider; his children, Theresa Snider, Rodney Snider Jr. (Tess), Candiss Hollis (Adam), and Kristina McInerney (Jacob); and his grandchildren, Katelin, CJ, Rebecca, Elisha, Rodney III, Makayla, Cameron, Lochlan, and Everest. He was deeply cherished by his great-grandchildren, Carolin, Annie, Melody, Braelynn, Parker, Max, Colton, Rodney IV, Jaxon, Ja'Siah, and Journie. Dear brother of Debbie Murray.
He is also remembered by his late parents, Lester and Aileen Snider; his late siblings, Monica, Mark, Gwen, and Pam; and his late son, David.
Rod was truly one of a kind-helpful, loving, funny, and endlessly caring. His family was his pride and joy, and his life was overflowing with love.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rod's memory to the
