Rodney Lee Ward, 68, a resident of Norton, passed from this life Monday, December 1, 2025, at home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Rodney was born Thursday, April 18, 1957, in Elkins, a son of the late John Ward and Clara Elizabeth Pastine Ward. On October 16, 2021, he married the former Donna Watson who survives at home.
Also left to cherish his memory is one son, Tim Ward and wife Brandi, a very much-loved granddaughter whom he was so proud of, Carlee Ward, sister, Louella Cutright and husband Jearl, nephews and nieces, Vincent Cutright and wife Christine, Anita Thompson and husband Bryan, Sara Kirk and husband Josey, Hank Ward and wife Ashley, Brian Ward and wife Rhonda, Cheryl Gottschall and husband Matthew, great nieces and nephews, Nate, Sam, Owen, and Emily Cutright, Max and Anna Thompson, Ashur Ward and wife Naomi, Aaron, Andrew, Alexander, Aubree Ward, Amelia and Matthew Gottschall, Casey and Lily Croston, Ethan and Grayson Ward, and sister-in-law, Sharon Ward.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one son, Jeremy Ward, and three siblings, Charles, James, and Suzanne Ward.
Rodney attended the schools of Randolph County. He had been employed for over forty years at Elkins Fordland. Rodney was an avid KISS fan and loved going to concerts with his son Tim and daughter-in-law Brandi. He also enjoyed racing gas powered RC cars.
Rodney's request for cremation will be honored, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
