Rodolfo Erazo, beloved father, brother, teacher, and friend, passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on August 19, 1967, in Oxtotitlán, Guerrero, Mexico, he was the tenth of thirteen children born to Bruno Erazo and María Nájera Román.
Rodolfo grew up in the heart of southern Mexico, surrounded by family and strong community values. He eventually made his way to the United States, where he earned his degree from Oakland University in Michigan. In 2015, he moved to Texas, where he would continue to make a lasting impact as an educator and mentor.
With a master's degree in education and over 25 years in the classroom, Rodolfo was a passionate Spanish teacher and a certified education specialist. He inspired generations of students with his dedication, warmth, and humor. His excellence in teaching was recognized with the honor of "Teacher of the Year" four times-a reflection of both his commitment and the deep respect of his peers and students.
Outside the classroom, Rodolfo was known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and boundless energy. He was a loyal Detroit Lions fan, often challenging friends and family with a smile and a $1 bet: "Who ya taking?" He loved action movies-especially those starring Jason Statham and Keanu Reeves-and could often be found tinkering with home or car projects (sometimes with "volunteered" help). He never missed a chance to lend a hand to those in need, embodying kindness in action.
Rodolfo was preceded in death by his parents and six of his siblings: Paula, José, Emelia, Pastor, Miguél, and Hermelinda.
He is survived by his loving son, Tomás Erazo (30), and his siblings: Alberto, Fidel, Juanita, Estebán, Rogelio, and Lilia Erazo Nájera-along with countless students, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched.
Rodolfo lived a life of service, love, and laughter. His memory will remain a guiding light to all who knew him.
