February 3, 2024
It is with great sadness, yet with a blessed hope that we announce the death of Roenna E. Flynn.
On February 3, 2024, Roenna peacefully slept on, transitioning into the arms of her loving Savior and Lord.
A Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend.
Sister Roenna Flynn was born on April 5, 1943, in the district of Redwood, the parish of St. Catherine, on the beautiful island of Jamaica, W. I.
Roenna immigrated to White Plains, New York and later moved to North Lauderdale, Florida. Roenna worked as a seamstress while in Jamaica.
Upon her immigration to the United States, she worked passionately in the medical field, ministering to and serving the needs of seniors in our community. Two of her favorite pastimes were attending church and playing dominoes with her family and friends. She served the Lord for many years at Mount Hermon Community Baptist Church, Sunrise, Florida.
Mrs. Roenna Flynn leaves behind seven of her eight children; Howard Stephens, Donna Flynn, Portia Flynn, Debbie Mair, Abraham L. Flynn, Ava Amos, Jeremy L. Flynn; son-in-law, Neville Mair, and daughter-in-law, Winsome Flynn. Also leaving behind are Roenna’s pride and joy, eight grandchildren, Omar Parara, Tanisha Mair, Victor Samrajeet, Chelsy Bowen, Colleen Mair, Nicole Mair, Amanda Flynn, Abraham L. Flynn, Jr.,; one great-grandson, Anthony Parara; one sister, Yvonne Facey; numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
