Roger Almstrom Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Britton-Wallace Funeral Home - Auburn on Mar. 7, 2026.
Roger W. Almstrom, 73, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Maryanne (Verdolino) Almstrom and his brother, Paul R. Almstrom.

He is survived by his daughter, Jaime Anderson, her husband Matt, and their son, Chase, whom he adored, of Worcester. His brother, Gary Almstrom and his wife Pam; his sister-in-law, Debbie Almstrom, all of Auburn; along with many nieces and nephews, who were so meaningful to him, as well as many lifelong friends. He is also survived by a special lady, Kathy Marchand, of Auburn, they met later in life, after having both lost their spouses.

Born in Worcester and raised in Auburn by the late Chester and Marion (Clave) Almstrom. He graduated from Auburn High School and went on to achieve a bachelor's degree and worked in product management and marketing. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved Sergeant ranking.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, volunteering at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, and traveling. Roger especially loved his trip to Ireland and most recently Wyoming. He loved being outdoors and being by the ocean.

Roger will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (www.dana-farber.org/donate), and/or to the American Kidney Fund (https://www.kidneyfund.org/).

Services will be forthcoming, and will be announced.

Hi Jaime
Sorry for the loss of your Dad. My husband and I went to AHS with Dad class of 1970. We are so glad he was able to make his 55th class reunion. After he moved back to Auburn, I would see him on occasion as I walked in his neighborhood with some friends.
I'm sure you have so many happy memories to hold on to.
Take care.
