Roger Willis Ash
September 17, 1953 - December 22, 2025
Roger Willis Ash, 72, of
Wimauma, FL, beloved shepherd and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born on September 17, 1953, in
French Lick, IN, to Howard and Deloris (Limp) Ash.
On May 9, 1981, Roger married Barbara Jean Korell, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Jason (Cynthia) Ash of New Carlisle, IN; 2 daughters, Amanda (Vincent) Bowman of Bradenton, FL, Jenna (Andrew) Franks of
Ruskin, FL, 10 grandchildren, Kailey (Miles) Kalk, Ethan, Peyton, and Chloe Ash, Logan, Harper, and Margaret Bowman, Reese, Jackson, and Britton Franks; 3 great grandchildren, Adalynn, Alayna and Miles Kalk, Jr.; 1 sister, Margaret Trees of Hendersonville NC; mother and father-in-law, Lois and Laverne Korell; sister-in-law, Lynn (John) Pena of Labelle, FL; brothers-in-law, David (Pam) Harris of New Carlisle, IN, Tom (Cathy) Korell of
La Porte, IN; several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister-in-law, Leah Rae Harris; brother-in-law, Phillip Trees; and daughter-in-law, Angie Ash.
A devoted follower of Christ, he began ministering at a young age. Following bible college Roger took a detour into the business world, working as a field consultant with McDonald's Corporation, while always doing lay ministry on the side. After 25 years he answered his calling into full time ministry and was ordained in 2001. He served as Executive Pastor at Countryside Christian Church,
Michigan City, IN and La Porte First Church of God,
La Porte, IN. After relocating to Florida, he continued his service as pastor of care at Wellspring Community Church in Ruskin and as a shepherd with Standing Stones Ministries where he mentored and counseled other pastors and ministry leaders. He served faithfully until the day the Lord called him home.
One of his greatest joys in life were spending time with his family, counseling (especially marriages in crisis), bible studies, mentoring & discipleship. His passion was to lead others to have Godly marriages and to see families restored, he also enjoyed sharing major life events by doing many weddings, funerals, and served many years as a hospice chaplain. His goal in ministry was to lead others to Christ and stand with them in the waters of baptism!
Roger spent his life in service of the Lord, and was a kind, faithful and gentle husband, father, papa, pastor, shepherd, counselor, mentor, and good friend to many!
Most importantly, Roger was a Godly leader in his family, leading by example and loving them well. Nothing made him happier than being with his wife, children and grandchildren.
If Roger could leave one final gift, it would be to offer an invitation to accept Christ as your personal savior and Lord.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."John 3:14-16 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life." For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
A private viewing will take place followed by cremation with Sun City Center Funeral Home.
