Roger L. Bair

LORDSTOWN- Roger L. Bair, 68, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 after an extended illness at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born on September 14, 1947 in Clearfield Co., PA, son to Raymond L. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Woodside) Bair. Roger was a Grove City High School graduate and went on to graduate from YSU with an Associates of Business. He worked for 30 years at General Motors, retiring as a coordinator. Roger also served with the Lordstown Fire Department for over 20 years, 5 years of which he served as Fire Chief. Roger was a member of both the Ohio State Fire Council and the National Fire Council. He also was a member of the Disaster Medical Assistant Team (DMAT). Roger will be remembered for the joy he found in the outdoors, whether it be camping or hunting. He also will be remembered as a passionate train enthusiast. Left to carry on Roger's memory is his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra J. Bair, whom he married on September 14, 1973. Roger is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Bair of Charlottesville, VA; son, Keith (Carrie) Bair (Fife) of Ravenna, OH; daughters, Tracy (Kevin) Jaszemski of Volant, PA, Stacy (Trevor) Orr of Garrettsville, OH, and Rogina (Kyle) Saner of Windham, OH; step-son, Ronald (Tina) Ferguson of Akron, OH; step-daughters, Melissa (Randy) Rakich of Brookfield, OH, and Debi (Leslie Dus) Riggs of Westlake, OH; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Bair of Charlottesville, VA; and sister, Joyce (David) Anama of Pittsburgh, PA. Roger is preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Bair Sr., and two brothers, Robert Bair and Raymond Bair Jr. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM at Bailey Rd. Baptist Church on Monday, January 4 and from 9-10AM on Tuesday January 5. Funeral Services will follow on Tuesday at 10AM. Interment to follow at Lordstown Village Cemetery.
