Roger Bowen Obituary

Roger W. Bowen, JR, 52 of Walkersville, MD passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Born on January 2, 1971 in Baltimore, MD to Roger Bowen, SR and Linda Snoots. Roger is survived by his Dad Ray Snoots, Sisters Melissa Bowen, Kim Hagan and husband Jimmy, Stepmom Theresa Dorsey and husband Randy, God Parents Dave and Sheila Gates, and Girlfriend Amanda Soper. He also leaves behind his new puppy Poppy. Roger was a 1990 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. After graduating he worked in the HVAC field for N.E. Bob Waltz up until his health prevented him from working. Roger was a self taught musician, known for his talents on Bass Guitar. He was a member of the band Straight Shooter, Minds Eye, Special Delivery and No Shame. He was a natural entertainer that loved to make people happy. He had a passion for Muscle Cars, he will be remembered for his Yellow Mustangs. Roger was strong willed and had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. Roger was the most loving, generous, loyal person whose smile lit up a room. He truly loved his friends and family. It is a comfort knowing he is reunited with our Mom and Grandmom Mike. A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined. Roger Bowen, JR

Only the good die young. Met Buzzy 9th grade and we were business partners and friends from the start, enjoyed hanging after school with Ray and Rog. So many parties and gigs, having the time of our lives. Seen Buzzy a few years back and not knowing he was having issues, he really looked great at the time. This really hits like a Ton of Bricks! Turn it up to Eleven one more time for Buzzy.

Wow, so sorry to hear this. I meant Roger at a very young age through his father Ray Snoots that I worked with at the Clorox company. Roger was such a great bass player and as I remember even taught bass at an early age. Darn way to soon to lose this young man. My hearth gos out to all of his family. Ken Main

I'm so glad I got to have that last 20 minute conversation with you. I never dreamed it would be the last. Anyone that knows you knows that you can talk a blue streak. It just doesn't seem real. My prayers for your family and Poppy.

How could you resist that beautiful smile! Roger was like family to us. He also provided kittens to our grandchildren which they still have and adore! I remember him being sick so much, but always bouncing back to play and sing his music with the band. We love you , Roger. Rest in peace now
