Roger Lee Brown

Roger Lee Brown, 81, of Shadyside Ohio passed away February 1, 2026 at WVU Medicine, Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Born on October 15, 1944, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Clyde Hayes Brown and Dellas Burge Brown.

Roger dedicated his professional life to his craft as a Cement Finisher, a role he fulfilled with dedication and skill. Beyond his work, he was deeply involved in several community organizations. He served as a Director of A.B.A.T.E for a decade, a testament to his commitment to advocacy and community engagement. For 28 years, Roger brought joy to children as Santa through the Bikers for Santa's Kids program, spreading holiday cheer and embodying the spirit of giving.

He was also a Life Member of the Powhatan VFW Post 5565, where he contributed to the camaraderie and support of fellow veterans. Additionally, Roger was a respected member of the Shadyside American Legion Post 521, reflecting his patriotic service in the United States Army, Vietnam War and dedication to his country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters Jeanette and Shawna Brown, granddaughter Alexis Orndorff, and brothers, Wayne L. Brown, Gary D. Brown, Clyde 'Checkerboard' Brown and Terry Brown

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Kenney Brown, children; Randy Lee (Rebecca) Orndorff of Moundsville West Virginia, and Jason Michael Orndorff of Orlando Florida, Grandson; Mason Orndorff and sister Dena Brown of Bethesda, Ohio.

Family and friends will be recieved at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside on Saturday February 7, 2026 from 10am until time of service at 1pm. Private inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
