Roger Clifford Obituary
ROGER CLIFFORD
Henderson, TN: Roger James Clifford, age 74, passed away August 28, 2024, at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in St. Mary’s County, MD December 22, 1949, son of the late Peter Roger Graves and Cecila Grace Thompson. He grew up in Hackensack, NJ and graduated from Garden State Academy.
He began his career working in construction and then in manufacturing. His last job was a machine operator with ADM in Jackson, retiring in 2004.
Roger and his companion of 19 years Bettie Swafford made their home in Henderson.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, watching wrestling, and listening to music. Roger loved his animals and has had many dogs and cats.
He leaves behind his cat “Little man” and dog “Lucky.”
He loved spending time with his grandchildren who affectionally called him “Pop Pop” and two grand pups Doc and Super.
Roger was 7th Day Adventist in faith.
He is survived by his companion Bettie Swafford of Henderson; four daughters, Tamara Lopez (Michael), Tiffany Walker (Jeremy Kurtz) of Erin, TN, Teresa Horn, and Toni Clifford; two grandchildren, Nicholas Duncan and Finn Horn; several brothers and sisters as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday September 4, 2024, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel.
The family will receive friends at East Main on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
