Roger E. Collins, age 84, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at St. Catherine's Care Center in Washington Court House, Ohio. He was born October 1, 1941, in Cuba, Ohio, the son of the late George and Miriam (Snyder) Collins. Roger was a member of Wilmington Bible Baptist Church.
Roger was a Proud Veteran of the Unites States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Roger was a 1960 Graduate of Wilmington High School. After is service to our country, he worked at General Motors, retiring after more than 32 years of service. Roger had volunteered at Denver School for 13 years. In his spare time, Roger loved tending to his garden and flowers, and his two dogs.
Roger is survived by his wife, Catherine (Beckett) Collins, to whom he married July 21, 1973 at Olive Branch Church; sons Todd R. Collins of Wilmington and Chad G. Collins of Monroe; grandchildren, Caylee Collins and Kelsee Collins, both of Wilmington; sister Rheada Brown of Wilmington; brother Larry (Jackie) Collins of Morrow; sister-in-law Susan Irwin of Wilmington; brother-in-law Alan (Patty) Beckett of Oregonia; and many friends and church family.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his brother Mark Collins; brothers-in-law Mike Brown, Charles Beckett, Don Beckett, and Keith Beckett; and father and mother-in-law George and Lucile Beckett.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Military Honors will be accorded by the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard at 4:14 at the funeral home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
