Roger Duval Obituary

Roger J. Duval, 89, of Manchester, died August 24, 2025, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, after a long period of declining health.

Born April 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Alfred and Helena (Bower) Duval. He was a graduate, with high honors, of West High School, class of 1955, and class President both his junior and senior year. He was also an outstanding football player. Roger proudly contributed to the Defense of our Country as a Staff Sergeant of the US Army Reserves for eight years. He was a dedicated machinist during his career, working in various management positions before retiring in 2001.

Roger's enjoyed playing baseball, which he played for many years when he was younger, and senior softball in his later years. He also enjoyed many sports and activities such as fishing and hunting. Roger and his wife traveled extensively together, though the Unites States and the Caribbean. They also enjoyed time spent together bowling, climbing the White Mountains and cross country skiing. What brought him the most happiness was watching his grandchildren play football and being their biggest cheerleader.

Roger spent his life dedicated to his family and the love of his life, Lorraine (Pruneau) Duval, whom he married in 1957 and they went on to spend 67 years happily married. He was the proud father four children, David Duval and wife Pat of Bedford, Gary Duval and wife Jeannie of Nashua., Randy Duval and wife Sherry of S. Carolina and Alan Duval and Tricia Clay of Goffstown; and Pepére to eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren, all of who were a constant source of smiles, stories and unforgettable memories. Roger will be remembered for his love and the pride of his family, his humor, smile, kind heart and his famous words of advice, "Stay out of the hot sun".
