Roger Dale Funk

Roger Dale Funk, 75, of Hillman passed away peacefully Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Medilodge – Hillman.
Roger was born in Warsaw, Indiana on March 7, 1950, to the late Lester and Wilburta (Brown) Funk, and served in the United States Navy. On November 3, 1973, he married Karen Calkins. He worked and retired from Wayne Wire Cloth Products in Hillman until his retirement in 2013. Roger was a member of the Free Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting, an avid sports fan and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; 3 children, Nathan (Lynn) Funk, Angela (Carl) Hardies, Steve (Rachel) Funk; 9 grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Funk, Alysa (Kolton) Goebel, Abigail Funk, Leah Hardies, Hayden Hardies, Aletha Funk, Judah Funk, Graham Funk, Asher Funk; brother, Wilbur (Charlotte) Funk; sister-in-law, Becky Funk; several nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Alta Courtright and brother, Lyle Funk.
Memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Alpena Free Methodist Church from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Reverends Richard George and Doug McGeorge officiating, followed by military honors by VFW Alpena Post 2496. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
