Roger W. Gierke, 83, of
Conrath, WI passed away on October 3rd, 2023, surrounded by family in
Eau Claire, WI.
Roger was born in
Hutchinson, MN to Harry Gierke and Elaine (Albrecth) Gierke. He grew up and graduated school in
Hutchinson, MN. He met, and married Karen L. Haase on January 8th, 1962 and later moved his family to
Conrath, WI. Through the years, he worked many jobs, but his favorite job was working for Rusk County where retired from. Roger was very active in his church, Trinity Lutheran, and enjoyed attending weekly Bible studies.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Elaine Gierke; and his in-laws Arnold and Doris Haase.
Roger is survived by his wife Karen; his three children Connie (Gierke) Colby, Troy Gierke, and Chris (Rachel) Gierke, all of
Eau Claire, WI. He has one brother, Roy Gierke, and one sister Shawn Gierke, both of
Hutchinson, MN. Roger has 6 grandchildren: Connie's children Erica, Amanda, and Shane; Troy's daughter Miriam; and Chris's children Isabella and Dakota. He has four great-grandchildren Izaiah, Izabella, Maurice, and Larrisa.
Funeral Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Sheldon, WI on Saturday, October 28th. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am followed by a service at 11:00 with Pastor Beardsley officiating. A lunch will follow at the church.
