Roger Hausmann Obituary

Roger Hausmann July 12, 1950- May 22, 2024

JOHNSON CITY - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Wilhelm Hausmann, who was born in Ersten, Germany on July 12, 1950, and passed away peacefully on May 22nd, 2024, at home surrounded by his family in Johnson City, TN.

Roger spent his childhood and early adult life in Kassel, Germany where he nurtured a love for art and music from a young age. On New Year's Eve 1979, he made the bold decision to move to the United States, seeking new opportunities and adventures. It was in Houston, TX, where he met the love of his life, Ava. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed their first child, Jack, in 1983, followed by their daughter, Faye, in 1986.

A self-employed artist, Roger was a true testament to dedication and passion. He would often stay up all night, teaching himself computer graphics and to operate an early Commodore 64 computer, always striving to better himself and provide for his family. His artistic talents were boundless, encompassing painting, digital design, and an extraordinary love for the guitar. His creativity knew no limits, leaving a lasting impression on so many.

Roger's love for music was profound. He was an avid guitar builder and player, and his talent led him to join multiple rock and roll bands over the years. His woodworking hobby turned into a passion and his music brought joy to many as his spirit will continue to resonate through the melodies he created.

In 2024, Roger was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. Despite the challenges he faced with his illness, he showed remarkable courage and grace. He remains a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him until his final moments.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Ava Hausmann, his devoted son Jack Hausmann (Wife Stevie Hausmann), and his cherished daughter Faye Hausmann (Fiancée Eamonn McCullough). He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Tanner Hausmann, Wren Serlo, Stone Hausmann, and Nickolas Hausmann, his loving niece Madeleine Gideon (Husband Matthew Praisner), and many other dear friends and distant relatives who will forever remember his warmth, creativity, and indomitable spirit.

A celebration of Roger's life will be held at a later date, where we will honor his legacy and the indelible mark he left on all our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to "Save The Music Foundation: Education Resources for Children" in Roger's memory.

Roger Hausmann's legacy of love, art, and music will continue to live on through those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever inspire us.
