Roger Hummell Obituary
Roger was born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 13, 1947, to the late Roger Leon and Virginia Belle (Miller) Hummell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Leigh Davis, and brothers Fred, Jesse, and Bill.
He is survived by his former wife, Catherine J. McLaughlin; daughter Rebecca (Michael) Posey; sister Mary Jane Davis; grandchildren John Michael (Kelcey) Hummell, Ashleigh (Chad) Carroll, Jessyca (Ben Hughes) Simmons, Jannalyn (Gauge) DeWitt, and Kaitlyn Davis-Uhrig; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Roger was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army and subsequently served in the United States Air Force Reserve. Roger was a lifelong carpenter by trade. His memberships included David Lutheran Church in Canal Winchester, Reynoldsburg VFW, and a lifetime American Legion membership.
Family will receive friends from 4-7 PM, Friday, October 17, 2025, at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 11 AM, Pastor Steven Carlson, officiant. Military Honors will be observed during the service.
Cremation services will be provided after the funeral, and his urn will be placed in a niche at Union Grove Cemetery's Field of Honor at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
