col Roger Dean Ingvalson

I was one of the many wearing a silver bracelet with Lt Col Roger Ingvalson’s name in the 1970s. Sorry to hear that he has passed, but glad that he returned from Vietnam. I just finished reading a historical novel about women nurses that served, and mention of the bracelets brought his name to mind.

To the family of Roger D. Ingvalson:
My name is Edmundo Genis, I had Roger's P.O.W.bracelet for a few years and when I found out he was released and safe at home I did mail it back to him. I just found the letter he wrote me thanking me for its return. I looked him up on Facebook on 05/30/2025 and read that had passed. Please accept my condolences to all family members. I have a POW bracelet that I am wearing today (Veterans Day) to honor Roger and all of the other POW's and veterans. They will always have my utmost respect and thanks for their selfless service to us Americans and the USA. I pray that Roger may RIP and that his family will find comfort in the continuing respect and honor I and many other Americans give to our vets.

Hello, my stepfather William D Pomeroy has a bracelet with Col Roger Ingalson's name and I wanted to see if I could find him..he passed in 2017 and must have known this man, a hero...he sounds like an amazing American hero..Bill must have served with him. He was in Vietnam from 1963 to 64..

I also own and wore a POW bracelet with the name of Lt. Col. Roger Ingvalson when I was in high school. I found it today as I was cleaning out a closet and decided to try and find information on him online, and found this and several impressive articles about him. It brought joy to know he came home and led a long and accomplished life. Through the years I had tried to find info, but this is the first time I was successful. My sympathy to his family and a long overdue thank you for your service Mr. Ingvalson.

I have often wondered what had become of Lt. Col. Ingvalson. I wore his POW bracelet for a very long time. His name has stayed with me all these years. Bless you, Sir, for your most distinguished service to our country. I wish that I had had the privilege of meeting you. May you Rest In Peace.

DEAR FAMILY OF COLONEL ROGER D. INGVALSON,

I too wore his bracelet. He was Lt. Col. Roger Ingvalson then. I wore his bracelet day and night until it fell off. I was only in high school when I had it and I never knew what happened to him. I have looked for him many times, but now I find this. I hope someone in his family will find this and know that I was always there, thinking and praying for him. Colonel Roger Ingvalson has always been my hero and I was lucky to have known him. Thank you.

In the 70's when there was a POW we had 'bracelets' on metal for a particular person. You wore them night and day. You never took them off until they were returned home. I was a young mother and saddened by the war. My bracelet was Rogers. When his name was listed as returned I was sent a round sticker in blue with a star on it. I am now 68 and I just felt I wanted to have someone know how much I prayed for his returned. In looking for any information on him I see how truly spectacular he was. They were terrible times and he suffered so much but he was able to rise above it.
