Roger Jaquez Obituary

ROGER A. JAQUEZ, 73, of Firestone, died August 30, 2009 at HospiceCare Center in Louisville, Colorado. Roger was born on January 23, 1936 in Farmington, New Mexico, the son of Ed and Amalia (Munoz) Jaquez. He lived with his family in New Mexico attending Farmington High School until their move to Colorado. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1954, at which time he began his 21-year career in the United States Air Force. He was a combat veteran having served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the Air Force he began his career as a postal employee until his retirement. He was an active member at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Frederick, CO. On April 11, 1964 he married Lupe M. Vidaurri in Frederick, CO. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. His parents, two brothers Ronald and Antony Jaquez and his sister Arlene Ward preceded Roger in death. Survivors are his wife Lupe Jaquez of Firestone, his son Shawn Jaquez of Aurora; two grandchildren, Gunner L. and Kendall R. Jaquez, his brother Joe of Maine, and several nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Frederick, CO with Reverend Hernan Florez as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Theresa's Catholic Church New Building Fund, P.O. Box 418, Frederick, CO 80530.
