Roger D. Johnson

UNION, WV – Roger D. Johnson, age 73, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV. Born June 9, 1952, on Hans Creek in Greenville, WV, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Rita Virginia "Jenny" Thompson Johnson. Roger retired from BF Goodrich in Union, WV, after 38 years of service. He was a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mason Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Edna Johnson; brother, Mike Johnson of Peterstown, WV; stepsons, Rick and Roy Hoke of Union, WV; grandchildren, Misti Tingler (Dustin) and children Landyn, Graysyn, and Masyn of Roanoke, VA, Dustin Hoke (Morgan) and children Wylder and Isla of Caldwell, WV, Karly Smith (Trevor) and child Elowen of Pickaway, WV, and Jensen Hoke (Hunter) and child Olivia of Union, WV; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV, with Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union, WV. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
