It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Karner, who left us on July 21, 2025, just days shy of his 74th birthday. He was born on July 25, 1951, in Elmhurst IL.

Roger was an avid sports fan who loved rooting for all the Chicago teams; White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks. But his absolute favorite team was his grandkids. He was their number one fan, always cheering them on in life. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for golfing and fishing. He always cherished the memories made with loved ones during those special outings. When he wasn't enjoying the outdoors, he would often relax and watch his reality tv and game shows.

Above all, Roger was selfless, always putting the needs of others before his own. He embodied compassion and thoughtfulness, leaving a legacy that will stay in the hearts of those he touched.

Roger is survived by his son: Owen (Jessica) Karner; his grandchildren: Grace, Samantha, and Colin Karner; his siblings: Kay (late Jim) Rusche, Ron (Rose) Karner, and Karen (DJ) Caulfield; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Ruby (Rapp) Karner.

Roger's family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date, please check back for details.
