Roger Langreck, age 90, of West Union, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Gunderson in La Crosse, WI, with his family by his side.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 3030 Iowa Hwy 24, Lawler, IA, with Father Nicholas Radloff officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to the time of the service on Thursday at the church.

Roger was born on May 15, 1935, in St. Lucas, Iowa to Catie and John Langreck. He was raised on a farm south of St. Lucas and went to grade school and high school at St. Luke's in St. Lucas.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955 and proudly served in Korea as a Radio Operator. After meeting at a dance in Decorah, Roger married the love of his life, Germaine Kuennen, on August 10, 1959, and they had seven children.

Roger and Germaine farmed the family farm until retirement. His faith was very important to him. Praying the rosary, attending mass, and dedicating himself to serving others or helping anyone in need were foundational to his life. He had a love for flying and attained his private pilot's license. He enjoyed taking his family on Sunday trips, and he gave many rides to friends and neighbors. He liked to sing, and the only thing he ever asked for at Christmas was for his family to go caroling with him, to friends and neighbors. He loved innovation and was always looking for his next challenge or DIY project. He had a passion for history, particularly WWII. Other interests included telling stories, spontaneous road trips, and spending endless hours at Menards. He also served his community on different parishes and school boards.

Roger survivors include his wife, Germaine; four sons: Jeff, Kerri (Deb), Tim (Jenn) and Jon; three daughters: Shellie (Tim) Goldammer, Wanda (Robert) Simms, Catari (Jamie) Leifker; Grandchildren: Adam (Jayme) Langreck, Kelly Rains, Kai (Patty) Simms, Josh Simms, Keegan Simms, Lauran Simms; Kyle Langreck, Kalvin Langreck, Olivia Langreck, Bella Langreck, Garrett Langreck, Jack Leifker, Jonah Leifker, Max Leiker.
