Roger was born November 30, 1938, in Manilla, Iowa, to the late Donald J. and LuRene (Foxhoven) Olson. He graduated from Manilla High School in 1956 and served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1956-1958. From 1958-2008, Roger spent in the trucking industry as a driver, dispatcher and parts man. He retired from 275 Truck Service in Council Bluffs.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie (Jones) Olson.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori (Charles) Reynolds, of Kansas City, Mo.; son, Jeff (Lori) Olson; stepdaughter, Carolyn Storm, all of Council Bluffs; stepson, Kirk (Kris) Storm, of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, Justin, Cassie, Rachel, Crystal, Peyton, Preston, Harper, A.J., Trevor and Loden; sister, Norma (James) Kloewer, of Stuart, Iowa; brothers, Richard (Karen) Olson, of Omaha, Ronald (Linda) Olson, of Dewitt, Iowa; nieces and nephews.
Rosary recitation, Wednesday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Thursday, 11 a.m., at the mortuary with Rev. Chuck Kottas officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, with military rites tendered by American Legion Post #2. A lunch will follow at the American Legion Club. Memorials to the Kidney Foundation preferred.

My condolences to the Olson family.Roger was a neighbor in Manilla, Iowa and I remember him as a very tough highschool football player.

My condolences to Roger's family. My oldest brother, James, and Roger were classmates and friends growing up in Manilla, IA. I remember him well.
