Roger was a very good friend of mine from the old Boston College yearbook days. While he graduated in 1969 and was immediately drafted into the US Army, I met him on his return from service when he came back and helped with the 1973 and 1974 yearbooks. He was a great person and friend and a superb photographer. He photographed my wedding and those of several of our friends.
I was Editor-in-Chief of the 1973 and 1974 yearbooks and was invited to an Editor's reunion a few years ago at Boston College. I asked if I could bring a few friends and Roger and two other staff members accompanied me. Several of the late 60's editors also knew Roger. When Roger entered the function room he, alone, received a standing ovation!! What wonderful evening that was. I am sorry to say that is the last time I saw Roger. It was and remains a great memory of him as a guy everyone loved and respected.
