Roger Ludwig Porubsky, 83, of Huntersville, North Carolina, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, was called home to be with our Lord on February 23, 2025.
Roger was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 15, 1941 to the late Ludwig and Adele Porubsky. The oldest of seven, Roger married the love of his life when he was just 21 years old and dedicated his life to caring and providing for his family. He worked tirelessly as a field service engineer with Siemens Energy and Automation until he retired at the age of 62. In his own words, “Some of the best years of my life have been the years spent watching [my grandchildren] grow from infancy to adulthood.” He was a devoted Catholic, an avid antiques collector, and fondly known by the nickname “grumpy” to many during his time as a Range Safety Officer at The Range at Lake Norman. He was most known for always wanting what was best for those who were his own in this world. He will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Susan; children Roger Porubsky, Jr. and Tricia Sisson (Brian); grandchildren Kaitlyn Cobb (Justin) and Sam Sisson; and siblings Ronald Porubsky (Jackie, deceased), Adele Hilkert (Scott), twins James Porubsky (Andrea) and Jerome Porubsky (Maureen), Mark Porubsky (Sylvia) and Mary Ann Newman (Dan), along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 28 at 11:30 a.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mark Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mark Growing Home Capital Campaign at https://www.stmarknc.org/growing-home
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
