ROGER DAVID RITCH SR., 81, of Aiken, South Carolina, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, November 16th, 2025.
Born to the late Robert and Mildred Ritch in Indian Trail, North Carolina, Roger was a dedicated Army veteran, having served honorably during the tours in Korea and Vietnam. He demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout his life, retiring from Pepperidge Farm and then Coastal Security.
Roger was a man of many passions; he enjoyed building stock car models, amassing an impressive collection of over 600 model cars, some dating back to the 1960s. His creative spirit and hard work were evident in every project he undertook.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Hilda, and their three cherished son, Roger David Jr. of Aiken, Jason of Charleston, and Michael (Merrissa) of Lexington, SC. He was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, Tobias and Theo, whom he was so proud of. Roger is also survived by his two sisters, Barbara and Susan, both of North Carolina.
A man of profound faith, Roger found comfort in his relationship with the Lord, and we take solace in knowing that he is now singing with the angels.
A graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon, November 20th at 1 o’clock in Southlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Howard III will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (formerly Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (Formerly JDRF)), PO Box 5021, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5021, or visit BreakthroughT1D.org.
