Mr. Roger Sharpe, 67, transitioned on January 21, 2024.
Roger Sharpe was born to the late Albert "Bud" Sharpe and Mildred L. Sharpe on July 6,1956 in Edgecombe County. He departed this life on Sunday January 21, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Theresa Sharpe, Joan K. Sharpe Neal, and brother Ronnie "Red" Lancaster.
He attended both Nash and Edgecombe County schools. Afterwards he began employment with Burlington Industries, Hardee's Food Systems and Phillip Fibers.
To know him was to love him, he never met a stranger. He never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone who crossed his path. He had a very loving, kind and gentle soul. He loved to brag on his children and grandchildren every chance he got. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, watching westerns and riding with his very good friend Marcus "Mark" Hinton.
Roger leaves to cherish his memories his beloved son's Eric Romone Coppedge of Rocky Mount, NC and, Kenderic Ray Boose of Newport News, VA, five sisters Vallie Harrison (Vernon) of Castalia, NC, Audrey Sharpe- Lee (Thomas) of Alexandria, LA, Iris Sharpe of the home, Mildred Sharpe of Rocky Mount, NC, and Priscilla Sharpe-Harris (James) of Wendell, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, aunts, uncles and friends who loved and cherished him dearly.
A Visitation for Mr. Sharpe will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 beginning at 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Rocky Mount chapel of located at 325 Nash Street in Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. The burial will take place privately.
