Roger Shipley Obituary
Roger "Bubba" Shipley, 67, of Mohawk, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Systems. He was a longtime member of Catherine Nenney Baptist Church in Whitesburg.
He worked for Tommy Gregg at the Midway Exxon and retired from Allen Petroleum and Carol Estep after many years of service. He enjoyed going to car shows and ran the Big Bubba Fun Run at Mosheim School for 20 years.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, John Howard and Aline Shipley; grandparents, James and Ruth Shipley; special aunt and uncle, John and Mary Dyer; Raymond and Ethel Wren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janetta Shipley; children, Heather Cansler Morgan, Brenda LeAnn Shipley, grandchildren, Patrick Dayne Morgan, Lauren Morgan and JoLee Morgan; brother, Bobby Dale (Libby) Shipley, Pete (Betsy) Shipley; sisters, Sissy Carter and several nieces and nephews; special friends, Barbara Wampler, Onita Jones, Charlie Hawkins, Charles Shears, Dougie Manis, Crystal Jessee, Carol Estep, Larry Gregory, Angel Gregory, Tommy Gregg, as well as countless other dear friends.
Special thanks to Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System, especially Nurse Susan and his church family at Catherine Nenney Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 2:00 with Reverend James Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Church Cemetery in Mohawk.
