Roger W. Snook

March 23, 1941 - December 6, 2025

Roger W. Snook, 84, died December 6, 2025.

He was born March 23, 1941, in Jefferson, IA, to Richard and Charlotte (Blaylock) Snook. Roger graduated from Creighton Prep High School in 1959 and Creighton University Pharmacy School in 1965. He married Dorothy Wingate on November 19, 1960. To this union six children were born: Joseph, Patrick, Michael, Susan, Mariann, and Thomas. Roger was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where he was a lector and eucharistic minister, served on the parish council and finance council. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and past grand knight of KC Council #1045. He was a member and past president of the Serra Club, board member of the United Credit Union, served on the St. Albert School Board, and member of the Southwest Iowa Pharmacy Association. Roger worked as a pharmacist for 55 years. He owned his own drugstore and worked throughout the Omaha/Council Bluffs area as well as Onawa, Missouri Valley, and Glenwood. He loved working with the public. He couldn't go anywhere without knowing someone. When not working he loved model trains and his grandkids and great-grandkids. He would tell us to "Behave yourselves and try to have a little fun" when we left the house and wanted us all to "Go for it".

Roger was preceded by his wife, Dorothy, parents, Richard and Charlotte, and in-laws, Harold "Bud" and Frances (Maier) Wingate. Roger is survived by children, Joseph Snook of Manassas, VA, Patrick (Shelley) Snook of Council Bluffs, Michael (Pat) Snook of Council Bluffs, Susan (Julian) Monks of New Hope, MN, Mariann (Glenn) Wingert of Panama, IA, and Thomas Snook of Council Bluffs; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, C. Richard (Carol) Snook of Waukesha, WI, Francis (Phyllis) Snook of Naples, FL; nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, 5:00 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1 Bluff St. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A lunch will follow at the Warehouse Event Venue, 1414 W. Broadway. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Catholic Church or to be directed by the family.

So sorry to hear of Roger's passing. Remember babysitting for the Snook kids. Always great to see Roger and Dorothy and great humor. So sad I can I not be at either visitation or funeral. Love to all of the Snook kids and families.
