Roger L. Stone passed away peacefully at his home in Lexington on May 13, 2025. He was married to his beloved wife, Anita Marlene Stone, for 48 years.
Roger was the eldest of three children born to Elgin and Ruby Stone of Nicholas County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Luther (Barbara) and Michael. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Beetz.
Roger and Anita were blessed with two sons, Roger L. Stone Jr. and Jimmie (Jennifer), as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
Roger retired from Hillenmeyer Nurseries after more than 32 years as a skilled mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed repairing lawnmowers-often lovingly teased as "One Jerk Rog"-and riding his motorcycle.
A gathering in Roger's memory will be held for family and friends on June 14, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potluck dinner served at 2:00 p.m. The gathering will take place at Legion Park, 30 Legion Road, Paris, Kentucky.
Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
