Roger Strickland Obituary
Roger Michael “Mike” Strickland, 62, of Bailey, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 11 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, with a visitation following. Pastor Ricky Anderson will officiate.
Mike dedicated thirty years of service to the North Carolina Dept. of Public of Safety, working as a Correctional officer at Central Prison. He was a family man, his greatest title was “Papa”. Mike will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Mike is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Rhonda Byrd Strickland; daughter, Maci Strickland Skinner and husband, Tyler; grandson, Brady Allen Skinner; grand-dogs Layla and Lexi; brother, Phillip Strickland; sisters, Kathy Strickland Lamm and Richard and Terri Strickland; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends that he considered family.
Mike is proceeded in death by his parents, Ernest Fenton and Betty Strickland and nephew, Matthew Lamm.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks for the care, support and love that was given to Mike through Gentiva Hospice.
