Later, Roger enjoyed hunting and surf fishing, his most cherished being a hunting trip out west with family. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked in the family construction business, TaCo Builders which constructed many buildings in Ocean City. They were avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders and enjoyed many years of traveling the country in their RV. They especially enjoyed touring the Western US and Roger loved all things Western and Cowboys. Ultimately, they became snowbirds, spending their winters in Wesley Chapel, FL, where they made many close friends and were embraced by the community.

Roger most loved spending time with family and friends. Always the gentleman, Roger was welcoming and a friend to all. He will be remembered for his ready smile, quick laugh, and constant jokes and tricks. A private ceremony will be held in Berlin, MD at a future date.
