Roger L. Whitmill, 85, of Rigby, formerly Spencer, ID, passed away March 1, 2026, at his home.
Roger was born November 2, 1940, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Lewis and Geraldine Whitmill. He was born and raised in the Idaho Falls area and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1959.
On February 17, 1961, he married Kay Larue Morgan in Idaho Falls, ID. Roger worked 35 plus years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. In 1995, he and Kay retired to their place in Spencer, ID.
Roger was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved western history.
Roger is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kay Larue Whitmill of Rigby, ID; daughter, Lisa K. (Gregory V.) Miller of Meridian, ID, son, Mitchell R. (Casey) Whitmill of Rigby, ID, son, Brett L. (Cindy) Whitmill of Nampa, ID, sister, Bonnie Lou (Ron) Hilker of Idaho Falls, ID; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
