Roger Edward Wilhelm

I was only in instrumental music up through high school, every possible combination- marching band, concert band, orchestra, pep band, stage band, pit orchestra, playing piano clarinet tenor sax flute and sousaphone. At the u of r a frat brother suggested I try the men's Glee club. Roger checked me out and checked me in. He was a wonderful leader, gifted, organized, and both fun and driving. I was able to be in the yellow jackets and to serve as Glee club President during it our 100th anniversary year in 1976. That gave me many opportunities to work with Roger for which I am very grateful.

Roger was a teacher of mine at Kendall College. I connected lwith him later in California when I became a student at Stanford. I remember him as rigorous and kind. Roger left an indelible impression, and a legacy of grateful students.
