Rohulamin Quander Obituary
Family will receive friends on Saturday September 6, 2025 at Saint Augustine Catholic Church, 2101 15th St., N.W. from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; Omega Psi Phi Memorial Service from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Omega Men for Homeless Men, Alpha Omega Chapter, P.O. Box 90158, Washington, DC 20090.

The Fairfax County Public School Board recently passed a proclamation to honor the Quander Family´s Centennial Anniversary. I had the privilege to meet and collaborate with Judge and Mrs. Quander during this process. It was such a delightful experience that I will always cherish. I send my sincere condolences to Mrs. Carmen Quander, their children, grandchildren, and the entire Quander family. Judge Quander´s legacy and impact will continue. Judge Rohulamin Quander is/was a dear & treasured friend. He served Fairfax County's History Commission by serving as a presenter numerous times - being well received by all in attendance during our 20 year tenure. My deepest condolences to Ro´s wife, children, and other family at his passing. I met him through mutual friends not long after I started high school. He was such a kind, generous, welcoming person. Our infrequent contacts over the years, whether at church, or at "house parties" or weddings, or other gatherings, only served to deepen my impression. He will be sorely missed.

deeply sorry to learn of his passing, His many years of service to the District included serving as the Mayor's Agent for Historic Preservation. His decisions established standards and protections under our local laws that continue to keep this city's historical and architectural heritage protected. To the family. I met Ro
after I was made in Omega thru Epsilon Sigma chapter at Bowie State College in 1970. Found out later my sister married Ro cousin Roland Quander(RIP) I have a copy on the Frat history signed by Ro. A good friend with a big heart and true love for Omega. He will be missed. Our lost in heaven's gain. I will see you on the other side my friend. Rest in peace til we meet again Saint 7-70-. FIETTS

Carmen and family,
Ro was my twin brother. We were both born on December 4, 1943, in Garfield Memorial Hospital in DC. Because of segregation, we were not in the same nursery together. He was in the nursery in the colored ward and I was in the nursery in the white ward.
It was not until September 1950 that we met in Sr. Chabanel´s 2nd grade class in Sacred Heart School on Park Road in DC. Because the sisters arranged the students´ desk in alphabetical order, Ro and I sat together throughout our years at Sacred Heart. Finding out we were born on the same day in the same hospital we formed a lifelong bond as twin brothers. We went to John Carroll High School together before going on our different paths in life.
Thanks to email we kept in touch and always spoke to each other via phone on our birthday in our senior years. I will miss Ro very much, but thank God for giving him to us for so long. I pray that God protects his wife, Carmen, their children, and family.
