Roland Blanchette Obituary
He was born in Manchester on July 15, 1943, the son of William and Marie (Boucher) Blanchette. Tank had worked as a supervisor for International Paper, retiring after 37 years of service. After that, he worked as a custodian for the Londonerry School system for 15 years up until last year. He was an avid bowler, hunter, and was passionate about cars and going to car shows. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church. Tank was predeceased by his wife, Annette (Champagne) Blanchette in 2023.
Family members include his son, Matthew Blanchette and his wife Rita of Hampstead; three grandchildren, Xander, Tank, and Luke Blanchette; two great grandchildren, Ruari and Liam; a sister, Lucille Verville of Allenstown; two sisters-in-law, Fran Dittbenner and her husband Ike and Jeannine Couture all of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8th at 10:00 AM in St. Peter's Church. He and his beloved wife will be laid to rest together in Mt. Calvary Cemetery later this year. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Tank's memory to Make a Wish New Hampshire at https://wish.org/nh. I didn´t know Tank but I think I had in grandson and namesake when I was substitute teaching in middle school . It is quite a compliment to say that a 6 th grade boy was kind , polite and funny and made an impression that made me remember him almost 10 yrs later . My sympathies to Tank´s family and especially to his grandson Tank .

A great deal of years ago, I worked in the mill yard. Can´t remember name of it, but it was my first official job. I must have been @18-19. It was tough as it was piece work and made me nervous since top supervisor was always on your back. But it n comes Tank, who relaxes you and becomes somewhat of a friend. Never saw him again when I changed jobs, but wanted you to know he was a good man that I never forgot! I´m 3/4 of a century old now, and still remember him! I am so sorry for the loss of him, for his family and friends. God Bless
