Roland Raymond Dufresne, 77, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Faith Lutheran nursing home in Osage, IA.
Family will have a service for Roland on December 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Grace Anglican Church, Fleming Island, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests that donations be made to the Faith Lutheran Nursing home, Osage, Iowa, and or St. Croix Hospice, Charles City, Iowa.
Roland was born on August 22, 1944 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the son of Paul and Alice (Recore) Dufresne. He was always interested in electronics, having served as an avionics technician in the U.S. Navy. At age 55, he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Florida.
Roland enjoyed canoeing, camping, travel and being active especially outdoors. He could often be found making improvements around the yard and repairing equipment. Roland attained one of his dreams and took flight lessons, meeting the level necessary to take solo flights.
Those left to cherish memories of Roland are his wife of almost 46 years, Linda (Weldin) Dufresne, two sons (Chad and Glenn), four daughters (Jessica, Gabrielle, Cassandra and Rebekah), six grandsons, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter; and many other friends and relatives.
Roland is preceded in death by his parents.
