Roland Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care - Pembroke Pines Chapel on Feb. 13, 2026.
Roland "Randy" O. Smith, Jr. entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2026. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 9, 1961, Randy was the third child of Roland and Glenda Smith. The Smith family moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1961.

Randy would go on to attend McArthur High School. Randy married Mary Anne Lakeman on January 17, 1981 and was a devoted father to their children, Jeremy Wayne Smith and Brittany Amanda Smith, and a devoted grandfather to Brooke Amanda Smith.

Randy worked in the family school photography business, Roland Smith Enterprises and would eventually open his own school photography company and printing lab, Randy Smith Enterprises. Randy's talents were many – he invented and patented a photography devise called "Strobtone" used by many photographers nationwide. Randy would later sell his company and become the South Florida territory manager for Strawbridge Studios.

Family was Randy's number one priority. Spending time boating, attending his son's hockey games and his daughter's cheerleading competitions, and his granddaughter's recitals. He never missed a school play or an event his children or granddaughter participated in. He loved family vacations to Disney World, New York, Las Vegas, and the Smoky Mountains.

Randy's main hobby was electronics. He enjoyed building things and operating them using his computer. He wrote computer programs for his business and other hobbies. He enjoyed building and racing model cars on his Carrera race track. Other hobbies included billiards and target shooting.

Randy is now reunited in Heaven with his son, Jeremy Wayne Smith, his sister Sandy Lips, his parents Roland and Glenda Smith, and many others who went before him.

Randy leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of those who survive him: his devoted wife, Mary Anne Smith; daughter, Brittany Amanda Smith; granddaughter, Brooke Amanda Smith; sister, Janet Seymour; as well as a large family of nieces, nephews, in-laws and a loving, extended family.

We find comfort in knowing that our beloved Randy is now in the presence and comfort of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Please join us for his Funeral Service on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Chapel, 1600 North University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

Followed by a procession to Hollywood Memorial Gardens North, 3001 North 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, Florida 33024.
