Pastor Rollie B. Davis (Mom) went home to be with the lord, with her family by her side on October 13, 2023. Pastor Rollie Davis was the daughter of the late Charlie Sr. and Ruby Bell Nattiel. Rollie was born on June 16, 1936 in
Gainesville, Florida. Rollie relocated to
Atlantic City, New Jersey in her mid 20's where she raised her entire family.
Pastor Rollie B. Davis was a lifelong pastor and ministered for over 40 years. Pastor Davis was a woman who loved God; God's people and His Word. She enjoyed preaching and teaching the Word of God with power, conviction, and simplicity at every opportunity that prevailed without compromise. Under the leadership of Church of God and Christ of Memphis Tennessee, Pastor Davis founded and was the pastor of First Newborn Church of Love, in
Atlantic City, New Jersey for over 40 years. She loved her church family dearly and compassionately and always felt it a privilege and joy to pastor her congregation. During her years as a pastor, Pastor Davis dedicated much of her time helping those that were in need. Pastor Davis dedicated her life to serving God and caring for all of his people. For many years, Pastor Davis and the members of the First Newborn Church of Love utilized the church to feed the homeless in Atlantic City. Pastor Davis loved to give back and help those who were in need, all while spreading the gospel.
Pastor Rollie B. Davis, "Mom" as she was affectionately called by all, was the matriarch of her family. Mom had the sweetest and most pure soul; she was full of love. Mom was a devoted and loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Mom had the ability to make everyone around her smile and feel loved. She was known to tell any and everyone, "baby Jesus loves you, and I love you too", or baby you're so beautiful, God is going to bless you baby". Mom was loved by everyone who crossed her path and had the gift of making everyone feel good. Mom welcomed everyone with open arms and a big heart. Mom enjoyed being around her family, shopping, reading her bible, and occasionally watching her favorite TV shows.
Pastor Rollie B. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Davis, her parents, Charlie Sr. and Ruby Bell Nattiel, Derrick Ellis (Son), Bernice Ellis (Daughter), Iris Davis (Daughter), Harvey Faulkner (Grandson), Harold Ellis (Grandson), Verdell Nattiel (Sister), and Lemar Nattiel (Sister).
Surviving are five daughters, Effie Ellis-Rich (Martin), Nafeesha Davis-Funderburk (Christopher), Abby Davis-Smith (Shawn), Margaret Valentine-Watson, and Maria Jordan. Three sons, Robert Ellis (Irma), Quincy Cooper, and Jesse Davis. Pastor Rollie Davis is survived by her beloved sister Vivian Nattiel Burnett (John), and brother Charlie Nattiel all of
Gainesville, Florida. Pastor Rollie Davis is survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, goddaughters; Arlene McCalop and Yolanda Cooper, and other loving relatives and friends. Mom will be missed dearly.
