Romona Snider Davis, age 65, of Rowan County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on November 9, 2025. She was born on February 9, 1960, in Iredell County, to Louis Snider and the late Janet Moose.
Romona will be remembered for her strong will, resilience, and her infectious laughter that could brighten any room. Though Romona struggled with addiction and depression, she was also a deeply caring and compassionate member of her community. Her life serves as a powerful reminder of the complexity of the human spirit-how someone can endure profound challenges and still leave behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and creativity.
She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Ray Davis; her father, Louis Snider, and stepmother, Eve Snider; her brothers, Rick Snider and David Snider (Jan); and her sister, Kathy Snider.
Romona is also survived by her children, Jessica Smith (Jason) and Betty Barnwell (Mario); her stepdaughter, Norma Carlyle (Allen); and her cherished grandchildren, Avery Bello, Alana Carlyle, Camden Barnwell, and Peyton Barnwell. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Indigo.
Romona is also remembered by her in-laws: sister-in-law Maggie Watson (Don); and brother-in-law Larry Davis (Janet).
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Moose, mother-in-law Gladys Davis; father-in-law John Davis; sister-in-law Lois Davis; and brother-in-law Johnny Davis.
Romona's cooking, laughter, and energy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday November 15th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church, 500 Morlan Park rd, Salisbury, NC 28146.
