Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Cremation Society of Iowa - Des Moines on Mar. 5, 2026.
Ron Eide age 92 of Forest City, Iowa passed on March 4, 2026. Ron and LuAnn have been living in Waukee, IA for the last few years to be closer to family. However, Forest City will always be their home.

Ron was born in Forest City on December 18, 1933. He grew up in Leland, attending High School in Forest City. After attending Waldorf College, he married LuAnn Mathews in 1953 and continued his education at Luther College. Ron taught High School in Britt where all four children were born. During that time, he kept pursuing his Master's Degree. After many long hard weekends and summers at Luther, UNI and finally at Michigan, Ron received his Master's and the family moved to Bainbridge Island, Washington to continue his teaching career.

After several years of living his dream in the Pacific Northwest, the desire to be closer to family brought them back to Forest City where Ron began a long career as a Chemistry Professor at Waldorf College. Ron retired from Waldorf in 1992.

Throughout his life, Ron was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing, hunting and golf. During all these years Ron was a devoted husband and father. Closer to and in retirement Ron and LuAnn owned several Airstream trailers and traveled throughout the United Stated and Canada.

Ron is survived by his wife, LuAnn and four children: Ronna of Panora Iowa, Suzanne (Cheryl) of Clive, Joel (Debbie) of West Des Moines and Rosanne (Daryl) of Boone. He also has five grandchildren, Jennifer Brown Plagge, Kori Brown, Hannah Eide, Kaitlynn Eide and Erik Gill and two great grandchildren, Hallie and Harper.
