Ron passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Dallas.

Ronald Bruce Turner was born on August 11, 1943, in Hiram, TX, to Luther Preston Turner and Alice Ruth Anderson Turner. He was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School with the Class of 1961. Ron volunteered and proudly served his country as a combat veteran in the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force. He participated in the defense of Bunker Hill 10 during the attack on Bien Hoa Air Base in the Tet Offensive in January of 1968.

On June 7, 1974, Ron married the love of his life, Virginia Kay Rose in Dallas, TX. They lived in Dallas and Plano before returning to Wills Point, where they raised their family. Ron was a devoted member of Russell Memorial Methodist Church, serving faithfully in many roles including the Chancel Choir, as a Sunday School teacher, and as a youth leader. He deeply enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing Christ with others.

Ron spent many years in the telecommunications industry, retiring from AT&T and EDS. He also held a private pilot's license and made numerous flights to Plano for work. Ron retired early to care for Virginia, serving as her devoted caretaker for three years prior to her passing.

Ron was recently presented with the Quilt of Valor in recognition of his service to our country. He was also honored with the Department of Veterans Affairs Challenge Coin, presented by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Douglas A. Collins, in appreciation of his service and dedication.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Alice Ruth Turner, and by his beloved wife, Virginia Turner; as well as brother-in-law, Jack Rego.

Ron is survived by his children: Rodney Turner and wife Julie of Carbondale, CO, Ryan Turner and wife Mackenzie of Wills Point, TX, Daniel Turner of Wills Point, TX, and Rachel Turner Schur and husband Si of Vernon, TX; brother Larry Turner and wife Theresa of Wills Point, TX; his grandchildren: Jillian Holbrook, Blakely Schur, Nevan Schur, Truett Schur, Addax Schur, Lydia Turner, and Audrey Turner; brother-in-law, Edward Rose III and wife Kris of Hideaway Lake, TX; sister-in-law, Sherill Rose Rego and husband, Steve of Weatherford, TX; along with many cousins, nephews, nieces and numerous friends.
